Red Bus Tours and campsites around Glacier National Park?

My husband and I plan on going to Glacier National Park in Montana for the first time first week of August. We are trying to decide which campgrounds to the establishment and are torn between Fish Creek Campground in Glacier Park and just outside it in the West Glacier Campground. I did some research online but can not not find many comments on these two. We camp in a trailer travel. Has anyone been to any of these campgounds? Experience? In addition, we trying to decide whether to take a bus tour red and I read mixed reviews of those online. We have the choice between the red buses, which can be costly but are informative, or a free shuttle. To someone has experience with one of these? All comments appreciated! Thank you!

Visits Red Bus can be fun, but I think a lot of it depends on the tour you take, who else on the bus with you, and who is your driver. Some Pilots have worked in the park for decades, and some do it for the first time in May or June All well trained and knowledgeable about the park, but the individual experiences vary. Compared to the free shuttle buses are red certainly experience more informative. I think the Tour red bus, or any tricks really are good if you know nothing about the park, where to go or what to see. The visits will be sure to see the main sights and learn few things. On the other hand, if you already have an idea of what you do in the park (you know, some of the sites you want to see, places you want to stop, a track or two you want to walk), I suggest you see the park on your own, because you have much more freedom that way. I think it really is just down if you prefer to find your way around your own, or be shown around the park. If you want learn more about the park for free, you can still attend the programs stored in different locations throughout the park. You can get a schedule schedules, locations, and subjects in one of the centers if you do not get one at the entrance to the park. Regarding the campgrounds, I think that Fish Creek is nice. There is a swimming Nice shallow ago, which I think it bumps over the Apgar Campground. Fish Creek is also one of the few in the park that you can book in advance (on site recreation.gov), which is very useful in high season (As in August) where the campgrounds fill quickly. Honestly, I do not remember Glacier Campground, so I do not know what to tell you over which of these two is better. I think you still love your stay at Glacier anyway!
