Planning A Tour To South America: Make Your Holiday More Enjoyable!

Countries such as Brazil, Ecuador and Peru are very popular tourist destinations. Brazil is famous for its beaches, the hospitable culture and the friendly environment. Peru is famous for the many historic sites and locations within the country. Machu Picchu, one of the oldest Inca sites in the country, is a very popular attraction for many tourists. Situated at a sea level of 2,430 metres, Machu Picchu offers some of the most breathtaking sights in South America.

However, planning a South America tour is not as easy as it looks. There are many things that you need to do in order to ensure that your trip goes as smoothly as possible. Here are just a few.

Plan Your Itinerary

Before you embark on your journey, the first thing that you need to do is to plan your itinerary in as much detail as you can. Most travel agencies that plan tours of South America often plan trips to two or three countries. For instance, your travel package may include trips to Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru or Uruguay. Obviously, travel agencies plan and create flexible packages that are designed to appeal to as many people as possible. Therefore, depending upon your budget, the number of countries and destinations that you visit will vary. You can choose from several different packages too.

Most travel agencies provide detailed itineraries to their tourists, thus making it easy for you to know where you’ll be headed on which day. However, if you are travelling by yourself, you should make an itinerary on your own. This way, you will know where you have to go and the sights you have to see. Without an itinerary, you might not be able to visit all of the attractions within each country.

Pack Lightly

During your tour, you will be moving around a lot. Therefore, it’s essential that you pack as lightly as you can. Try to pack everything you can within a small trolley bag or a medium sized suitcase. You will be amazed at how much more enjoyable your trip will be if you don’t have to worry about carrying around lots of luggage with you.

Spend on Experiences Instead of Items

Most people make the foolish mistake of spending a great deal of their travel budget on shopping instead of experiences. There’s really nothing special that you will find in these countries that you can’t get anywhere else. Buying a thing or two occasionally is fine, but blowing through a major chunk of your travel budget exclusively on shopping is going to put a damper on the whole trip. Try to spend your money on local tours and experiences in order to make it a memorable holiday. If you are travelling with a group, make sure you keep the contact numbers of everyone in your mobile phone in case an emergency arises.
